Maura Murray disappeared on February 9th 2004, and over 18 years later her whereabouts still remain unknown. At the time of her disappearance, Maura was a 21-year-old nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA. Her dedicated family — including her parents and four siblings — have never stopped searching for answers.
On a cold early February afternoon, Maura Murray contacted her college professor to inform them she was taking some time off due to a family emergency. Maura then packed up some things, got into her car and drove away from the campus. Around 140 miles away, at around 7:30 pm, she crashed her car into a ditch after skidding on a sheet of ice. The accident was witnessed and reported by members of the public, but by the time police arrived Maura had vanished. Authorities were able to trace the abandoned vehicle back to her, but she was never seen or heard from again.
