Jamie Rose Bolin

Kevin Ray Underwood, born in December 1979, was a grocery store worker who lived in Purcell, Oklahoma, and was liked by all who knew him. It therefore came as a huge shock to his family and local community when he was arrested for the abduction, sexual assault and brutal murder of a 10 year-old girl.

Although Underwood outwardly appeared quiet but harmless, he secretly harboured a dark side which involved an infatuation with butchery and cannibalism. In his spare time, he would log into MySpace and Blogger to divulge his “dangerously weird” thoughts. In one online post, he asked: “If you were a cannibal, what would you wear to dinner?” and answered himself by writing: “The skin of last night’s main course.”

Eventually, Underwood chose to turn his depraved fantasies into a reality.

Abduction and Murder

On 12th April 2006, Jamie Rose Bolin (10) returned home from school and decided to ride her bicycle around the neighbourhood. Tragically, this would also be the day that Underwood (26) targeted his first victim. He spotted the little girl cycling alone past his home and he seized the opportunity to lure her inside.
