Murder on Halloween: The Brutal Killing of 15-Year-Old Martha Moxley

Her killer had allegedly boasted about his presidential connections by telling classmates: “I’m going to get away with murder. I am a Kennedy.”

On October 31st 1975, 15-year-old Martha Moxley was found murdered near her Connecticut home after attending a Halloween party in the prosperous neighbourhood of Belle Haven. Parts of a broken golf club were located close to her body, which was subsequently identified as the murder weapon. The sharp fragments of the club had been used to beat and stab her. Martha’s pants had also been rolled down, but there was no evidence of a sexual assault having taken place.

Incidentally, the last person to be been seen with Martha the night she died was a 15-year-old boy named Thomas Skakel, who lived at the home where she had been celebrating the Halloween festivities. Although he was initially a prime suspect in this case, his potential guilt was later overshadowed by the strange admissions made by his brother, Michael Skakel. Michael admitted that, on the night of the murder, he had been looking into windows of the Moxley’s family home and was masturbating on their property until past midnight.

In addition to this, Michael attended a private school which specialised in behaviour modification schemes, and his classmates claimed he had boasted…
